Testimonals

  • Leila has the ability to fully engage children of all ages, whether singly or in a group. We invited her to do rhythm classes with our junior high and high school home-school co-op group. By the end of the class she had even gotten those "cool" older teenage boys dancing and using rhythm sticks with enthusiasm!

  • Leila is Effervescent, Engaging, Enthusiastic, Insightful, Inspiring, Loving, Amazing - Ramona

  • Leila has been my harp teacher for over three years. I have learned so much from her in that time, and not all of it related to music. She is confident and funny. She has such a wonderful love of music and such a joy in teaching. It is really contagious. Every once in a while, you meet someone who does something so well, and with such a joy, that it makes you want to be like that person, and hope that maybe you could do that job or skill half as good as they did it. Leila is such a wonderful teacher and friend. I can tell that she loves her music, loves her students, and loves teaching them all that she knows. It makes me want to become a teacher. If I do, I hope that I can be half as good at it as she is. - Olivia Gramly

  • With her caring and patient instruction, Leila Ramagopal has helped our daughter gain confidence as well as musicianship as she has learned the harp. Beginning with delightful Irish pieces and moving to a classical repertoire, Leila has taught our daughter to enjoy her growing skills, which has allowed her to play at weddings, benefits concerts, and with local orchestras. And there is no instrument that a parent can more enjoy hearing a child practice. - David K. Smith

  • I have been so impressed with Leila's teaching of my children, that I just recently started studying harp with her as well! She's been very conscientious about posture and hand position to play relaxed and not strain my body. Her tips for working on more challenging sections of songs have helped make my practice times very efficient and productive! Plus, she's such a delightful, encouraging, nurturing person, she inspires me to be a better person myself. I urge any parent who's been gazing longingly at their child's harp to just go for it! It is such a joy to produce beautiful music. - Parent

  • Our daughter Ema started taking harp lessons two years ago. She saw the camaraderie of the harpists and wanted to be part of it. It was the performances, at charities, competitions, and special events, that were the motivating factor for her switch from classical guitar. The lessons and assignments were a mix of regular practice and constant challenges that resulted in her rapid progress. It is Ms Ramagopal's special skill in finding venues to showcase all her ensemble players that ties it all together. Looking back, we could not been happier with Ema's choice of both the instrument and the teacher. It is the new whole world that we have become part of. - Hrabri Rajic

  • Our six year old son started taking violin lessons from Leila about a year ago. I have been amazed at his progress as a musician. The bonus is that his confidence has increased. I remember he walked out of his 2nd lesson ten feet tall and positively beaming! "I think she thinks I'm good at this!" Through tons of praise, inspiring challenges and an "I-know-you-can-do-it" approach, she has taught him the joy of focused hard work and has really brought out the best in him. We love, love, love her! - Parent

  • Leila is wonderful harp teacher for my son! She knows exactly how to refine his beginning music skills at each lesson so his learning keeps building while keeping him interested and excited! Music theory such as rhythm dictation and clapping as well observing the structure of pieces are integral parts of the lesson. Her teaching expertise has made learning fun! Plus, I like that she is well versed in the Suzuki method :) - Heidi Gandhi

  • Our daughters have been learning the violin with Leila for 5 years. She has nurtured their love for music and encouraged them constantly. Along with traditional repertoire pieces, she builds each child's individual interest into the music they play, using Irish fiddle tunes, jazz, etc., to create diversity in their music and to make playing the violin a whole lot of fun. Leila is a phenomenal teacher, a fabulous technician and we are grateful that our children learn music from her. - Anu Varadharajan
